Discord Timestamp Generator — Free Tool

Turn a date and time into a Discord timestamp tag that every member reads in their own timezone. Copy all seven styles, or the raw Unix seconds for a bot.

Previews below are rendered in your own timezone (UTC), which is what each reader's Discord client will do with the tag.

How the tag behaves

Paste a tag into any Discord message and every member sees it converted to their own timezone and language. Nothing you type here is uploaded, and the tag is built entirely in your browser.

Features

  • All seven Discord styles at once: short and long time, short and long date, the two combined forms, and the live relative countdown
  • Announce the event in whichever timezone you plan it in; the preview renders in your own, because that is what the tag does in every reader's client
  • Copies the raw Unix seconds as well, for bots and scheduled messages that want the number rather than the tag
  • Runs entirely in your browser, with no account and nothing uploaded

Frequently asked questions

Why does the preview show a different time to the one I typed?

Because that is the whole point of the tag. You enter the event in the timezone you plan it in, and Discord renders the tag in each reader's own timezone when they see it. The preview is deliberately shown in your timezone rather than the one you selected, so you are looking at what a reader sees rather than at your own input echoed back.

What do the style letters mean?

They pick the format Discord renders. t is a short time and T a time with seconds; d is a short date and D a long one; f is a long date with a time and F is the same with the weekday; R is a live relative phrase such as "in 3 hours" that keeps counting down. Every one of them points at the same instant, so pick by how much detail the message needs.

Can I use these tags outside Discord?

No. The angle-bracket tag is Discord's own markup and renders as literal text anywhere else, including Slack, X and email. The Unix seconds shown above the table are portable, though: they are ordinary epoch seconds, so any tool that takes a Unix timestamp will accept them.

What happens around a daylight-saving change?

The conversion uses the offset that actually applies on the date you picked, in the zone you picked, so an event after a clock change is converted with the new offset rather than today's. If you name a time that does not exist because the clocks jumped forward, the result lands just after the jump, which is what calendar apps do too.
