Can I paste a link to a thread instead?
No, and it is worth being clear about why. Reading a thread from a URL means pulling the posts out of X through its API, which requires paid, per-app access this free page does not have — and the alternative, scraping the page, breaks the platform's terms and would quietly break for you every time the site changes. So this tool works from text you paste. Open your thread, copy it, and paste it here; you keep the exact wording, and nothing about your thread ever leaves your browser.
How does it decide where one part ends and the next begins?
By default it looks for a blank line between parts, and if there is none it looks for numbering at the start of a line — 1/, 1/7, (1), 1. or 1). The numbering is stripped out and replaced with the document's own part headings. If the automatic guess is wrong, the split selector lets you force blank-line splitting, numbering, or no split at all.
Does it generate the PDF file itself?
No — your browser does. "Save as PDF" opens your browser's normal print dialog, where you choose "Save as PDF" as the destination instead of a printer. That is deliberate: the browser's own PDF engine produces selectable text and proper page breaks, and it means the tool needs no upload, no server, and no extra download.
Will the site's header, sidebar and footer end up in my PDF?
No. When you press Save as PDF the page switches to a print-only stylesheet that hides everything except the document preview, sets an 18 mm page margin, forces black text on white, and keeps each part from being split across two pages. The moment the dialog closes, the page returns to normal.
Can I use it for Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn or Mastodon threads?
Yes. The tool never looks at where the text came from — any thread you can copy as text works the same way, whichever platform you wrote it on.
