Why does this divide by views instead of followers?
Because TikTok pushes video to people who do not follow you. A video can take 10 times your follower count in views, which makes a follower-denominator rate meaningless and often absurd, above 100%. Views is the denominator that matches how the content was actually distributed.
What is a good TikTok engagement rate on views?
Against views, typical figures reported in public studies land roughly between 3% and 12%, which is far higher than the follower-based numbers you will see quoted for Instagram.
