Frequently asked questions
What size is an Instagram carousel?
1080×1350 for 4:5 portrait, or 1080×1080 for square. Every slide in one carousel has to share the same ratio, because Instagram crops the odd one out, so this tool renders the whole deck at whichever size you choose.
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
Instagram allows up to 20 images in a carousel and this tool caps a deck at 20 for the same reason. Text after the twentieth block is not rendered, so you never end up with a deck that Instagram will refuse.
Do the slides download as one file?
No, you get one PNG per slide, because that is what Instagram's composer expects: you pick the images in order. They download one after another, about a third of a second apart, since browsers block a burst of simultaneous downloads. A single-file PDF export is there too if you want the same deck for LinkedIn.
Are my slides uploaded anywhere?
No. Every slide is drawn on a canvas inside your browser and exported from there. There is no network request, no account and nothing stored on our side.
Can I add my own photos?
Not in this tool, which makes text slides. For photos, the collage maker merges several images into one post-ready picture, and the carousel splitter cuts one wide image into matching slides that swipe together.
