Frequently asked questions

Why do some entries show no date?

Because they genuinely do not have one. Black Friday, Easter, Lunar New Year, Ramadan, Thanksgiving and both parents' days are movable: they are set by a rule, a lunar calendar or a sports league, and they land on a different day each year. Printing a fixed date for them would be wrong in most years, so those rows are labelled Movable and show the rule instead — you confirm the exact day for the year you are planning.

When is Black Friday?

It is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, which is the fourth Thursday in November. That puts Black Friday between 23 and 29 November depending on the year, with Cyber Monday the following Monday, between 26 November and 2 December.

Which date does the calendar use for Mother's Day?

None, deliberately. Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May in the US, Canada, Australia and Germany, but in March in the UK and Ireland, and other countries use other dates again. Father's Day varies the same way. The entry states the variation so you pick the right date for the audience you are posting to rather than the one your tool assumed.

How far ahead should I plan around these dates?

Four to six weeks for most of them — long enough to brief creative, get approvals and build an email sequence. Q4 is the exception: Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the December holidays are usually locked two to three months out, because paid media and stock decisions depend on them.

Is the calendar free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type into the search box is uploaded or logged.
