What a Reel needs
Through BulkPublish, an Instagram Reel requires:

The 1 GB ceiling is the one to watch. It’s the tightest of the vertical-video platforms: TikTok accepts 4 GB and YouTube far more. A high-bitrate export that publishes fine elsewhere can be rejected here.
If you hit it, re-export at a lower bitrate rather than trimming the video. A 30-second Reel has no business being near 1 GB.
Vertical, and check the safe zones
A Reel is full-screen vertical. Landscape or square video technically uploads and then sits letterboxed with content floating in the middle.
If your video has on-screen text, check it clears Instagram’s own interface elements. Text placed for a different platform frequently ends up under a button here, and you only find out after it’s live.
The caption: use the first line
