Schedule Stories and Reels in 2026 [Updated Guide]

Short-form and feed content are not the same post shaped differently. A Story disappears in a day, a Reel behaves like the network's own algorithm expects it to, and a carousel needs a set of images in order rather than one file. BulkPublish asks which type each post is before it goes anywhere, from the same composer you already use for the feed plan, so the short-form calendar sits next to everything else instead of living somewhere separate.

Updated October 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.

How Stories, Reels and carousels work

Every connected network offers its own list of post types, and the composer only offers what that network actually supports: Instagram feed photo, feed video, Reel, Story or carousel; Facebook post, Reel or Story; TikTok video or photo slideshow; YouTube video or Short; Pinterest pin, video pin or carousel; Snapchat Story, saved Story or Spotlight; LinkedIn post or multi-image. Ask for a type a network doesn't offer and it is refused before the post is queued, not silently swapped for something else. A video is also checked against that network's documented length range for the chosen type, so a Reel that runs too long is caught while you're still looking at it, not after it fails on the network.

  1. Write the post and pick the channels it goes to, the same way as any other post.
  2. For each channel, choose the post type: feed post, Reel, Story, carousel, Short or whatever that network supports.
  3. BulkPublish checks the type is one the network actually offers, and checks any video against that network's length range for it.
  4. The post publishes on its own. For Facebook and Instagram, you can also share its first image or video as a Story afterwards, which disappears after 24 hours.

Networks this works on

This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 6 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.

What each plan is allowed

Stories, Reels and carousels are on every plan with no allowance of their own. The media in them counts toward the plan's media storage: 100 MB on Free, 2 GB on Pro and 10 GB on Business.

Allowance Free Pro Business
Media storage 100 MB 2,048 MB 10,240 MB

These are the figures the app enforces, not a summary of them. The pricing page lists what each plan costs and everything else it includes.

Working with AI agents

An assistant connected to BulkPublish can pick the right post type per network for a piece of content and queue it, rather than you working out type by type which network takes what.

BulkPublish runs a hosted MCP server, so an AI assistant can do this work with you instead of you copying its answer into another tab. It exposes 20 tools over OAuth: an agent can see your channels, draft a post, put it in the queue, publish it and read the numbers back afterwards. Nothing to install, no API key to paste.

Tools worth connecting

BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.

These run in your browser with no account, and they do one piece of this work on their own. Useful before you sign up, and still useful after.

Common questions

Can I schedule a Reel and a feed post from the same place?

Yes. Post type is chosen per network in the same composer used for every other post, so short-form sits next to the feed plan rather than in a separate tool.

What happens if I choose a post type a network doesn't support?

It is refused up front, before the post is queued, rather than being silently changed to a type the network does accept.

Does BulkPublish check video length for Reels and Stories?

Yes. Video length is checked against each network's documented range for the post type you chose, before the post is queued.

Can a published post also become a Story?

Yes, for Facebook and Instagram. After the post publishes, its first image or video can also be shared as a Story, which disappears after 24 hours.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.

Can an AI assistant do this for me?

Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
