Failed Social Media Post Alerts in 2026
The failure mode of scheduling is silence. A post goes out at 6am, a token expired overnight, and nobody notices until somebody asks why the account has been quiet. Alerts are the answer to that: when a post fails, or a connection is about to expire, you are told, in the app and by email if you want it.
Updated September 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.
What you get told about
The things you cannot see coming: a post that failed to publish, a connection whose authorisation is running out, and a scheduled post about to go. Each category can be turned on or off on its own, and email and in-app are separate switches, so you can have the app noisy and your inbox quiet.
- Publish and schedule as usual.
- A failure raises an alert in the app, with the reason the network gave.
- Turn on email for the categories you want reaching you when the app is closed.
- Fix the cause, reconnect the account if that was it, and retry the post.
Networks this works on
This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 15 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.
What each plan is allowed
Alerts are not metered. Every plan gets all of them, and there is no cap on how many you receive, which is why there is no allowance table on this page.
Working with AI agents
Reading your alerts is one of the few things an assistant cannot do for you, though an API key can, so a script of your own can watch for failures.
This one is an exception. An assistant connecting over the hosted MCP server cannot reach it: account settings outlive a disconnection, so a third-party connection is never given them, whatever you approved. Your own API key can, and the Node and Python SDKs both wrap it.
Tools worth connecting
BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.
Free tools for this job
These run in your browser with no account, and they do one piece of this work on their own. Useful before you sign up, and still useful after.
Who uses this most
These audiences have a page of their own where this capability sits next to the rest of what they use.
Common questions
Will I get an email for every post?
No. Email is off by default and opt-in per category, and the categories are about problems: a failure, an expiring connection. Successful posts are in-app only unless you ask otherwise.
What happens when a connection expires?
You are told before it does, while reconnecting is still a two-click job rather than an explanation to a client.
Can I turn a category off?
Yes, each one separately, and email and in-app are separate switches for the same category.
Can something else be notified instead of me?
Not today. Alerts reach the people in the workspace, in the app and by email. A machine-readable notification is not something to promise here until it exists.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.
Can an AI assistant do this for me?
Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
Still stuck? The Help Center walks through it step by step.
