Schedule Threads on X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon in 2026 [Updated Guide]

A thread is one idea split across several posts, and writing it as several separate scheduled posts is how the order breaks. BulkPublish plans the whole thread on one screen instead: every part in its place, media attached to whichever part needs it, and the chain scheduled and published together rather than as a handful of posts hoping to land in sequence.

Updated October 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.

How thread scheduling works

You split your points into parts, at least two, and can reorder them until the sequence reads right. Any part can carry an image or video. Each part is checked against the length limit of the network it is going to before the thread is queued, and the parts do not have to match across networks: the X version can be split tighter than the Mastodon one, because 280 characters and 500 characters are not the same budget.

  1. Write your points as separate parts, at least two, and put them in order.
  2. Attach an image or video to any part that needs one, and reorder parts until the sequence is right.
  3. Pick the networks: X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. A preview shows how each part will look, and you can split the parts differently per network.
  4. Schedule the thread like any other post. Each part is checked against that network's length limit first, then it publishes in order.

Networks this works on

This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 4 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.

What each plan is allowed

Thread scheduling is on every plan, with no allowance of its own beyond your regular posting limits, and it is available over the API.

Working with AI agents

An assistant connected to BulkPublish can turn a longer piece of writing into a properly split, ordered thread and schedule it across X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon in one request.

BulkPublish runs a hosted MCP server, so an AI assistant can do this work with you instead of you copying its answer into another tab. It exposes 20 tools over OAuth: an agent can see your channels, draft a post, put it in the queue, publish it and read the numbers back afterwards. Nothing to install, no API key to paste.

Tools worth connecting

BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.

Common questions

Which networks support threads?

X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon.

How many parts can a thread have?

At least two. You split your points into as many parts as the thread needs, reorder them, and attach an image or video to any part.

Do all networks get the same version of the thread?

Not necessarily. The parts can differ per network, so you can split the X version tighter than the Mastodon one while sending the same idea to both.

What happens if a part is too long for a network?

Every part is checked against that network's own length limit, X 280 characters, Bluesky 300, Threads and Mastodon 500, before the thread is queued, so an oversized part is caught before scheduling rather than after.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.

Can an AI assistant do this for me?

Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
