Schedule the First Comment in 2026 [Updated Guide]
A first comment is written next to the post, not inside it, and BulkPublish posts it under the post as soon as the post goes live. It exists for the things that read badly in a caption but belong right under it: hashtags pulled out of the text, a link on a network where caption links are not clickable, a credit, a discount code.
Updated October 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.
How the first comment works
The comment is attached to the post, not scheduled separately, so it goes out the moment the post itself publishes. It only reaches the networks that allow comments in the first place, and if it cannot be posted on one of them, the post itself is unaffected. The result is recorded per network, so you can see which ones got the comment and which did not.
- Write the post as usual, then write the first comment in the field beside it.
- Insert a saved snippet from the button beside the field instead of retyping hashtags, a link, or a discount code.
- Schedule or publish the post. The comment goes out right after the post itself goes live.
- Check the per-network result if anything looks off: the post always goes through even if the comment does not.
Networks this works on
This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 9 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.
What each plan is allowed
The first comment is on every plan, with no allowance of its own to track or run out of.
Working with AI agents
An assistant connected to BulkPublish can attach a first comment, or insert a saved snippet into one, at the same time it drafts the post.
BulkPublish runs a hosted MCP server, so an AI assistant can do this work with you instead of you copying its answer into another tab. It exposes 20 tools over OAuth: an agent can see your channels, draft a post, put it in the queue, publish it and read the numbers back afterwards. Nothing to install, no API key to paste.
Tools worth connecting
BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.
Free tools for this job
These run in your browser with no account, and they do one piece of this work on their own. Useful before you sign up, and still useful after.
Common questions
Which networks support a first comment?
Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube and Telegram, the networks that allow comments.
What do people usually put in the first comment?
Hashtags moved out of the caption, a link on networks where caption links are not clickable, credits, or a discount code.
What happens if the first comment fails to post?
The post itself is unaffected. The result is recorded per network, so you can see which networks got the comment and which did not.
Does the first comment count against any limit?
No. It is available on every plan and has no allowance of its own.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.
Can an AI assistant do this for me?
Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
Still stuck? The Help Center walks through it step by step.
