Content Calendar Notes in 2026 [Updated Guide]
A content calendar fills up with posts, but the dates that matter most are not always post dates. A product launch, a sale, a public holiday or a campaign deadline needs to sit on the same calendar as the posts around it, or nobody plans against it. A calendar note is that: a pin on a day, not a post, with nothing to publish.
Updated October 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.
How calendar notes work
A note is free text plus a colour, picked from six. It never gets published anywhere: it exists only for the team looking at the calendar, sitting next to the posts scheduled around it rather than replacing any of them. Everyone in the organization sees the same notes, so a launch date or a deadline is something the whole team plans around, not something one person remembers.
- Click the + in a day cell on month view, or "+ Add note" in day view, to open the note editor.
- Write the free text and pick one of the six colours.
- Change the day from the same editor if the date needs to move.
- Save it. In month view it shows as a coloured chip above that day's posts; in day view it sits in a strip above the timeline.
Networks this works on
This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 15 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.
What each plan is allowed
Calendar notes are on every plan and carry no allowance of their own: there is nothing to meter, since a note is never published.
Working with AI agents
An assistant connected to BulkPublish can pin a note to a date, such as a launch or a deadline, so the whole team sees it on the calendar without anyone opening the app first.
BulkPublish runs a hosted MCP server, so an AI assistant can do this work with you instead of you copying its answer into another tab. It exposes 20 tools over OAuth: an agent can see your channels, draft a post, put it in the queue, publish it and read the numbers back afterwards. Nothing to install, no API key to paste.
Tools worth connecting
BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.
Free tools for this job
These run in your browser with no account, and they do one piece of this work on their own. Useful before you sign up, and still useful after.
Common questions
What is a calendar note?
Free text plus a colour, pinned to a day on the content calendar, for things like product launches, sales, holidays, events or campaign deadlines. It is never published; it is for the team.
Who can see a calendar note?
Everyone in the organization, next to the posts scheduled around it, so content gets planned around the dates that matter.
Where do notes appear on the calendar?
In month view they appear as coloured chips above that day's posts. In day view they sit in a strip above the timeline.
Does adding calendar notes cost anything or use up a quota?
No. Calendar notes are available on every plan with no plan allowance of their own.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.
Can an AI assistant do this for me?
Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
Still stuck? The Help Center walks through it step by step.
