Social Media Queue in 2026 [Updated Guide]
Picking an exact time for every post is a chore when you are adding a dozen at once. The queue is the alternative: add a post without giving it a time, and BulkPublish drops it into the next open slot. You can still set an exact time yourself on any post, or move it on the calendar afterwards, but for the bulk of posts the queue is one less decision per post.
Updated October 2026. The plan allowances and networks below are read from the app itself every time this site is built.
How the queue works
Slots follow a fixed set of rules in your own time zone: nothing before 9am or after 8pm, at least two hours after the post before it, and no more than five posts on a single day. Each time is nudged by a few minutes so a run of queued posts does not all land on the hour. The queue looks up to a week ahead, and a large batch added all at once can spread further than that.
- Add a post without giving it a date or time.
- BulkPublish finds the next open slot under the 9am to 8pm window, two hour spacing and five a day rules, in your time zone.
- Leave it queued, or open the post and give it an exact time or move it on the calendar instead.
- Add more posts and each one takes the next open slot after the last, so a batch fills forward rather than piling onto one day.
Networks this works on
This capability is not limited to a subset. It works the same way on all 15 networks BulkPublish publishes to, and each one has a guide of its own.
What each plan is allowed
How many posts can wait in the queue at once is a plan allowance: 10 on Free, unlimited on Pro and Business. Scheduled posts per day are limited separately by plan, and that daily limit applies to queued posts the same as any other.
| Allowance | Free | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Posts waiting in the queue | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Scheduled posts per day | 3 | 30 | 100 |
These are the figures the app enforces, not a summary of them. The pricing page lists what each plan costs and everything else it includes.
Working with AI agents
An assistant connected to BulkPublish can ask for the next free slot in a given time zone and use it directly, instead of guessing a time itself.
BulkPublish runs a hosted MCP server, so an AI assistant can do this work with you instead of you copying its answer into another tab. It exposes 20 tools over OAuth: an agent can see your channels, draft a post, put it in the queue, publish it and read the numbers back afterwards. Nothing to install, no API key to paste.
Tools worth connecting
BulkPublish already talks to these, and each one has a setup guide.
Free tools for this job
These run in your browser with no account, and they do one piece of this work on their own. Useful before you sign up, and still useful after.
Common questions
How does BulkPublish pick a time for a queued post?
It looks for the next open slot in your time zone, following fixed rules: between 9am and 8pm, at least two hours after the previous post, and at most five posts a day. Times are nudged by a few minutes so posts do not all land on the hour.
How far ahead does the queue look?
Up to a week ahead. A large batch of posts added to the queue at once can spread further than a week to fit the rules.
Can I set my own time instead of using the queue?
Yes. Any post can be given an exact time of your own instead, and it can be moved on the calendar afterwards.
How many posts can I keep in the queue?
10 on Free, unlimited on Pro and Business. Scheduled posts per day are also limited by plan.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it does not ask for a card. The table above shows what the free plan is allowed for this capability, and the pricing page lists the rest.
Can an AI assistant do this for me?
Yes. The hosted MCP server lets an assistant draft, schedule, publish and read your analytics over OAuth, with nothing to install and no key to paste.
Still stuck? The Help Center walks through it step by step.
