How to Schedule Bluesky Posts (2026)

Bluesky has no built-in scheduler, so scheduling means a third-party tool. Here is what the platform accepts and how to queue posts and threads.

Steps

  1. Connect your Bluesky account under Channels. You sign in with Bluesky’s own authorisation screen.
  2. Open the composer and select Bluesky.
  3. Write the post, watching the 300-character counter.
  4. Add up to 4 images (JPG, PNG or WebP, 10 MB each) and write alt text for each.
  5. Pick the date, time and time zone, then press Schedule.

Because the limit is enforced as you type, a post that would be rejected is caught before it is queued, not when it tries to publish.

Scheduling a thread

  1. Write the first post so it works alone.
  2. Add the next posts in order. Each is counted against 300 separately.
  3. Read it top to bottom and cut any post that only repeats the one before.
  4. Schedule the thread as one item.

Do not thread out of habit. A three-post thread that could have been one post is worse than the one post.

Checklist

  • Every image has alt text.
  • The post fits in 300 characters, or is a thread on purpose.
  • Mentions are Bluesky handles, not handles from another network.
  • Any video is a short MP4. Send a test before queueing a batch.

Posting to Bluesky and X together

Most people on Bluesky also post to X, Threads or Mastodon. Select them in the same composer and write to the tightest limit, 280, and one draft covers all four. If you want a fuller version for Threads and Mastodon, which allow 500, edit those per network from the same draft.
