Yes, Threads posts can be scheduled and published automatically through BulkPublish, and text-only posts are fine.

Two points stand out. Text posts need no media. And 20 images in one post is unusually generous for a short-text network.

Anything written for X or Bluesky fits on Threads unchanged. The reverse is not true: a full 500-character Threads post is cut or refused on the other two. That makes Threads the easy one to add to an existing short-text habit.
Threading
Linked posts are supported, and the pressure to use them is lower here because 500 characters holds a complete thought more often. Thread when the idea needs the room, and make the first post work alone, since it is the one people see.
What does not cross-post
Replies. A post that only makes sense as an answer to something on Threads means nothing elsewhere.
Mentions. Handles differ per network. An @name carried across usually points to someone unrelated, or nobody.
