Scheduling on X is straightforward mechanically. What’s worth understanding is why third-party X scheduling is often priced differently from every other platform, because that shapes which tool makes sense.

280 characters is the tightest limit in the short-text group, which makes X the platform to write to if you want one draft that works everywhere:

Why X costs more in third-party tools
X charges for API access in a way most platforms don’t. Publishing through the API has a real per-request cost to whoever is running the tool, which is why you’ll see X handled differently from other platforms across the industry: separate tiers, credit systems, or its exclusion from cheaper plans.
This isn’t a tool being awkward. It’s the cost being passed on rather than absorbed silently, and a tool that hides it is absorbing it somewhere else.

The 140-second video limit
X’s video allowance is generous in file size (512 MB) and tight in duration (140 seconds). That combination catches people cross-posting from platforms with longer video: a clip fine for YouTube or Tumblr will be rejected here on length even though the file size is fine.
If a video is going to X and elsewhere, cut an X-length version rather than discovering the limit at publish time.
