A bio has one job: telling a stranger who landed on your profile whether to stay. Most of the traffic comes from a single post or a mutual follow, so the reader knows nothing about you and gives it a couple of seconds.
Instagram allows 150 characters, which is enough for two short lines and nothing more. That is a good constraint. The bios that work are one line of who you are and one line of what you actually do, not four rows of emoji.

How to pick one
Pick a line you would actually say. The most common problem with bios in this category is that they sound copied from a quote account, and anyone who knows you can tell instantly. Lead with the concrete thing: your city, your sport, your course, what you build. Then add one line of humor or attitude if you want it, but only one. Skip the stack of emoji separators, since they eat characters and make the bio harder to read. If you have somewhere to send people, say what is at the end of the link rather than just pointing at it. And update it when it stops being true, because a bio about a season that ended a year ago is worse than a plain one. If you are writing profiles for more than one platform at once, a general AI bio generator keeps them consistent without making them identical. An Instagram bio generator will give you a batch to react to, which is easier than starting from an empty box.
Check it on a phone before you commit, because line breaks fall differently there and a bio you laid out as three neat lines can arrive as five ragged ones. It takes ten seconds and fixes the most common formatting complaint.
